We live in a society where hourly employees are punished for working faster than their counterparts, often being rewarded with more work for the same pay. So what compels hardworking employees to go above and beyond? Not much. Since workers are rewarded with more work following their productivity, perhaps that's the reason so many people slack off. There's no incentive to go above and beyond anymore, so why bother?
